i didn't realize anyone still posted anything here. it's been almost a year to the day that i last posted something about katie and i moving in together.

once again we are moving, this time about a half block from our current residence. we'll be living with kate (the other girl from record exchange) and 4 cats. we are officially scary cat people.

i am also starting a new part time job next monday at image photo in princeton. mostly technical lab work (processing film, printing) with some framing. it starts out 20-30 hours a week so i'll still be at prex for two days, but hopefully i can become full time in a few months and leave the loser-shit-stink-hole record store.

also, my new camera and new flash are looking for people to photograph so get in touch if you want to be a model on model ave.

big time official news:

in early march i will be moving with katie to an apartment in hopewell, nj. geographically, the town lies about midway between lambertville and princeton. hopewell is very small-townish, perhaps the way lambertville would be if it didn't have new hope as a neighbor. lots of woods around for me to hang out in.

now would be a good time to get my cell phone number if you don't already have it, and don't hesitate to call.

thanks to all who came out on friday. it had been a while since i've seen most of you, and now you've seen what has kept me so busy.

not much school left, but unfortunately it is the least fun work of the semester. a 10 page architecture paper due this tuesday and the final for that class next week. besides that, just a few things to print out for photo classes. then it will be either full time at record exchange or a quick search for something else so i can save up enough to cross the delaware for a few years.

BFA exhibition TONIGHT

my photo show will take place tonight at tyler gallery at tyler school of art.

starts at 7, ends at 9. there is no reason to stay there for two hours, that is just the time i will be there.

for those coming, here are directions:

FROM WARMINSTER:
- go down either 611 or york rd. (doesn't matter, as york rd. merges into 611)

- keep driving on 611 for a while (through abington, through jenkintown)

- keep an eye out for frank lloyd wright's temple beth shalom on your left (the "samurai hat") building

- three or four lights after seeing the temple you will reach ashbourne rd. make a RIGHT (look for a church with a big red door on the left side of the intersection.

- make a LEFT onto penrose ave. (it comes right before the big post office on the hill)

- you will see tyler on your left. turn LEFT onto beech ave.

- make a LEFT into the parking lot.

- go into the building closest to you- tyler hall

FROM JERSEY:
- take route 1s. get off at the STREET RD WEST exit.

- go down street rd. for a while. make LEFT onto york rd.

- keep driving on 611 for a while (through abington, through jenkintown)

just over three weeks left until my senior show. get hyper, man!

i'll be showing five large (40"x50") photographs continuing the series of the woods at night. none of the images i posted here before will be shown, these five are brand new. there is still tons of work to do in a short amount of time as always. sometime next week i'll post an image or two.

the reception for the show (my photos along two other people's) will probably be friday dec. 2nd around 7pm. if you'd like a postcard featuring one of the images send me your real life address.

besides that there is little to report. this past saturday the new s.o.f. band IRUKANDJI (look it up) played our first show at the pirate's cove in allentown. it was the last show at the house so somewhere around 15 bands played. we did a five song set that was a little rushed and sounded shitty (we had to use supplied cabinets) but fun nonetheless. i'm no longer playing with nova ocean mostly due to lack of time and money to pay for the practice space.

late friday afternoon i'll be in philadelphia to drop off some film and then probably check out some galleries. anything good around old or center city?

i realize that while most of you reading this know that i am attending college for photography, you probably haven't seen any of my work. those of you who have probably remember images from a few years ago or that horrible fig newton close-up from the apartment.

these are part of a series done in the spring of 2004. all were inside the philadelphia museum of art and emphasise the areas between and around the art. essentially a study of space, light, tone, and form.

the following eight were made this past spring. they are night photographs of wooded areas lit by adjacent areas of artificial lights. most were taken in and around warminster with a few of them coming from lawrence, nj. my senior exhibition this fall at school will consist of 5 or 6 of these printed quite large. i'm not sure which of these will end being shown or if they will all be replaced by newer shots.

those are two possible names for the new sof band consisting of ron, joe, tom (new guy- screamer and theremin player), and i. we have a new practice space with nova ocean and songs are coming together well. some of the familiar chaotic stuff but with more heavy rock riffs and noise.

i am also the new drummer for nova ocean. as of now the band consists of keith, shannon, and i. we are searching out a guitar player. though the name is staying, we will not be playing any of the old nova ocean songs. the new stuff is heavier with a definite doom/stoner rock influence.

and i still have plenty of riffs written for chuh whenever the stars align and equipment rains down from the heavens.

tune your guitar up to E standard when you're done playing it. take a look in that little guide that gibson sent with the guitar. it recommends changing each string one at a time so that the tension stays pretty constant and the neck doesn't have to be reset. keeping the strings all downtuned does the same thing.

and before trying to set it up yourself consider your options:

a. spend $50 to have it set up and intonated by a professional who has done it many times before and for many years. your guitar plays great, stays in tune, sounds good.

b. do it yourself on a $1,000+ set neck guitar. screw it up and you have an expensive guitar that doesn't play right. screw it up really badly and you have an expensive guitar with a broken neck that cannot be replaced.
